Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a loaf pan with butter or cooking spray.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon for the coating.
  8. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter.
  9. Bake for 50-60 minutes, checking doneness with a toothpick.
  10. Allow to cool for 10 minutes, then sprinkle remaining cinnamon sugar on top.
  11. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For best results, do not overmix the batter and check for doneness a few minutes before the recommended bake time.
