A classic and easy sweet potato casserole topped with gooey marshmallows. Perfect for holidays or any family dinner as a sweet and comforting side dish.
Ingredients
4 cups cooked and mashed sweet potatoes
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. In a large bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and salt. Mix until smooth.
3. Spread the sweet potato mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
4. Top with mini marshmallows evenly over the casserole.
5. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until marshmallows are golden and melted.
6. Serve warm.
Notes
Use fresh or canned sweet potatoes as desired.
For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of orange zest.
Can be prepared ahead and baked just before serving.
