Description

A delightful dessert combining the sweetness of strawberries with the salty crunch of pretzels, perfect for gatherings and picnics.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup whipped topping
  • 6 oz strawberry gelatin
  • 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
  • 2 cups boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and sugar in a large bowl until well mixed.
  3. Press the pretzel mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch pan.
  4. Bake the crust for 10 minutes and then let it cool completely.
  5. Beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar in a bowl until smooth.
  6. Fold in the whipped topping until well combined.
  7. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled pretzel crust.
  8. Dissolve the strawberry gelatin in 2 cups of boiling water.
  9. Stir in the sliced strawberries with the gelatin mixture and let it cool slightly.
  10. Pour the strawberry mixture over the cream cheese layer.
  11. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours to allow the gelatin to set.
  12. Serve the dessert chilled, cut into squares.

Notes

Use fresh strawberries for best flavor. Make sure the crust is completely cooled before adding the cream cheese layer.
