A quick and delicious one-pot meal featuring creamy sauce, Cajun spices, and savory sausage, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (penne or rotini)
  • 12 oz smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large pot over medium heat. Add the sliced sausage and sauté for 5-7 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  2. Add the diced onion and bell pepper to the pot, sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Add Cajun seasoning and bring to a gentle boil.
  5. Add the pasta, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10-12 minutes until al dente.
  6. Return the browned sausage to the pot. Mix well and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Best served warm. Pairs well with a side salad or garlic bread. You can add grated Parmesan for extra flavor.
