Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
3/4 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
4 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
2 tbsp chopped green onions
Optional: extra cheese for topping
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
4. Stir in shredded cheese, bacon, and green onions.
5. Add buttermilk and gently mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto prepared baking sheet.
7. Optional: sprinkle extra cheese on top.
8. Bake for 12–15 minutes, until golden brown.
9. Serve warm.
Notes
Use cold butter for flaky biscuits.
Customize with your favorite mix-ins like herbs or cooked sausage.
Can be made ahead and reheated in the oven.
