Ingredients

Scale

2 cups milk or plant-based milk

2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

2 tbsp sugar or sweetener, adjust to taste

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Optional: whipped cream or chocolate shavings for topping


Instructions

1. In a small saucepan, combine cocoa powder and sugar. Add 2 tbsp of milk and stir to form a smooth paste.

2. Gradually add the remaining milk, stirring constantly.

3. Heat over medium heat until warm, but do not boil.

4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.

5. Pour into glasses and serve warm, or chill in the refrigerator for cold chocolate milk.

6. Optional: top with whipped cream or chocolate shavings.

Notes

Adjust sweetness according to taste.

For a richer flavor, use whole milk or add a splash of cream.

Can be made vegan by using plant-based milk and sugar.
