Description

Refreshing homemade lemonade made with fresh lemons, a touch of sweetness, and chilled water – the perfect drink for hot summer days.


Ingredients

Scale

1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 46 lemons)

1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

4 cups cold water

Ice cubes

Lemon slices and fresh mint, for garnish (optional)


Instructions

1. In a small saucepan, combine sugar and 1 cup water. Heat over medium heat, stirring, until sugar dissolves completely to make simple syrup. Let cool.

2. In a large pitcher, combine fresh lemon juice and simple syrup.

3. Add remaining 3 cups cold water and stir well.

4. Taste and adjust sweetness or water if needed.

5. Serve over ice cubes and garnish with lemon slices and mint if desired.

Notes

For a sparkling version, replace cold water with sparkling water.

You can infuse lemonade with fresh herbs like basil or rosemary for a unique flavor.
