- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon dried parsley
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- ½ cup diced onions (optional)
- ½ cup chopped green bell peppers (optional)
- A pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the diced onions and chopped green bell peppers, cooking until soft and fragrant, about 3-5 minutes.
- Once the veggies are ready, add the rice and stir for about 2 minutes.
- Pour in the broth, then add the soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, dried parsley, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 18-20 minutes.
- Let the rice sit covered for an additional 5 minutes.
- Fluff the rice gently with a fork and serve it as a delicious side dish.
