Description
Fluffy marshmallows dipped in golden batter and deep-fried until perfectly crisp on the outside and gooey inside. A fun, sweet carnival-inspired treat you can easily make at home!
Ingredients
12 large marshmallows
1 cup pancake mix
2/3 cup cold water (or milk)
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Vegetable oil for frying
Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Chocolate sauce or caramel (for dipping, optional)
Instructions
1. Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a bowl, whisk together pancake mix, sugar, vanilla extract, and water until smooth to form a thick batter.
3. Pat marshmallows dry with a paper towel, then dip each one into the batter, coating fully.
4. Carefully drop coated marshmallows into hot oil, frying 30–45 seconds until golden brown.
5. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
6. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm with chocolate or caramel sauce for dipping.
Notes
Make sure oil stays at 350°F to prevent burning.
For extra flavor, try rolling marshmallows in crushed graham crackers before serving for a s’mores twist.
