Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and then the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Combine the flour mixture with the creamed mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Prepare ungreased baking sheets and drop rounded balls of cookie dough onto them.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes until golden brown edges form while centers remain soft.
  9. Cool the cookies on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
