Description

Rich and moist chocolate cupcakes topped with a creamy ganache and butter frosting, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup heavy cream (for ganache)
  • 8 ounces semisweet chocolate (for ganache)
  • 1 cup butter (for frosting)
  • 4 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (for frosting)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a cupcake tin with paper liners.
  3. Mix the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  4. Add the eggs, whole milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture and blend at medium speed for about 2 minutes.
  5. Incorporate the boiling water into the mixture; the batter will be thin.
  6. Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full of batter.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, checking with a toothpick for doneness.
  8. Cool the cupcakes in the tin for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Prepare ganache by heating heavy cream and pouring it over chopped chocolate; stir until smooth.
  10. Make the frosting by beating butter, gradually adding powdered sugar and cocoa powder, then vanilla extract.
  11. Assemble the cupcakes by filling holes with ganache and frosting the tops.
