  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×9-inch baking pan by greasing it.
  3. Mash the ripe bananas in a large bowl until smooth.
  4. Mix in the melted butter until well combined.
  5. Add sugar, egg, and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
  6. Combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  7. Mix the dry ingredients into the banana mixture gradually until just combined.
  8. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  11. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
