Description
Creamy, buttery mashed potatoes flavored with garlic and Parmesan cheese. Perfect as a comforting side dish for holidays, family dinners, or any meal.
Ingredients
2 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup milk (or more for desired consistency)
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. Place potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add a pinch of salt.
2. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to a simmer. Cook until potatoes are tender, about 15–20 minutes.
3. Drain potatoes and return to the pot. Mash until smooth.
4. In a small saucepan, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant, about 1–2 minutes.
5. Add melted butter and garlic, Parmesan cheese, and milk to the mashed potatoes. Stir until creamy and smooth.
6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve warm.
Notes
For extra creaminess, add a little cream or more milk.
Use fresh Parmesan for best flavor.
Mashed potatoes can be prepared ahead and gently reheated.
