Description

A comforting and delicious baked ziti dish loaded with cheese and marinara sauce.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz ziti pasta
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, basil, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  4. Combine the cooked ziti, marinara sauce, and ricotta mixture in a large bowl.
  5. Layer half of the ziti mixture in a baking dish, then sprinkle half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Add the remaining ziti mixture on top followed by the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  8. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, mix in some cooked ground beef or Italian sausage.
